French Silver Drawing Set

A Fine French Silver Drawing Set, Once Belonging to Louis Alexandre De Bourbon, The Count of Toulouze and Admiral of France.
French ca. 1710. A fine silver drawing set with the military arms of Louis Alexandre De Bourbon (1678-1737). The coat of arms is surmounted by a coronet with engraving designating a prince of France of royal blood. Possibly a product of the Nicolas Bion workshop, although the instruments are unsigned and without hallmarks. All of the drawing instruments are of silver, which include a protractor, a folding rule with a swing out plumb line attachment, two sets of dividers, one converting into a drawing compass, an ink pen with a turned ivory handle, and a line thickness adjustment knob, a graphite tube with original graphite, a sharpening knife for the graphite which also incorporates a file as well as a compass joint tightening tool, a small silver box, and an original marking pencil for use with the graphite. All contained within a hinged mahogany case with a removable partition and a front spring opening clasp.
Condition:
The set is in fine condition throughout. The military insignia suggests that it may have been made for use in the war of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714).
